More Mail
December 15th, 1998
Ok, so I said I was done with the journal, but the mail just keeps on coming. Here's some more... Steve.

Dear Steve,
I have also enjoyed reading your journal and am so thrilled for you that
everything has turned out as well as it has. You've been quite the trooper
and the pig jokes have been apropos -- humor is good medicine, after all.
Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday and we'll continue sending our
prayers for your total recovery and back-to-work. Take care,

Dear Steve:
Waaaah! We will miss the BT Pages but understand that all good things must
come to an end. Keep up the great writing for yourself nonetheless - you
are so good at it!
Are you really doing web pages? Can you help a beginner make a new website?
I'm about ready to start...
See you next weekend!

Hi Steve!
I read your last chapter this morning. I have really enjoyed following your
adventure. I go in for an aortic valve job after the new year. Your
journal has made my process easier and I thank you for that.
To get me ready for this, some of my friends treated me to a round of
golf at Pebble Beach this past week. My first time playing "the beach"
and if your a golfer, its something akin to the Indy 500 for racing fans.
I hope you continue to do well and you'r up to full speed soon.
Oink oink!
Roger.

Steve,
Thanks for your web-site it has helped prepare me for my surgery which I
was told today will probably be in Jan. Thanks for e.mailing me back
last time.
I was told they are going to take my pulmonary valve and
artery and move it to the aortic position and then put a donor valve
in its place-The Ross procedure. I haven't had a consult with my surgeon yet.
that is soon- anyway I have a leak caused from a murmur and
endocarditis. I hope I fell as well as you seem to afterwards.
Take good care of yourself and family. I have a Dalmatian and 2 cats and a
one year old little boy named Lucas-and a husband Jack.
Lots of warmth
Julie

Wonderful journal, especially for me since I have slight (at least for now)
aortic insufficiency, which may eventually require an aorta replacement. It
should only be getting better for you from now on.

Subject: Goodbye?
Steve - - Well, I was wondering how you would end it... Just finished reading Mr.
Swineheart. Just thought I'd drop you another note and say thanks once more
for sharing your experience with the world. As I said when I first contacted
you, it was amazing and inspiring to find your journal and to find someone
who was going through exactly what I was/am going to be going through and
who was soooo close to me in personal profile and thought processes. It has
done me no end of good...
I am now well settled and resolved to my surgery, which is scheduled for
January 12th. In a slightly ghoulish way I am looking forward to it. Firstly
I want it over and done with. Secondly, I want to prove to myself that I can
deal with it. Bring it on.
Hope that all goes well for you from here on out. I'm sure you have hundreds
of e-mail pals now in addition to your recently extended family. I'll
probably send you one or two updates as all things go ahead, or as I go
through the recovery, I may write to compare aches and pains!
Cheers... Erik (Australia)
Sorry to interrupt your reading, but if
you are enjoying this journal so far, then you'd probably enjoy my music as well. Please check out my music site, listen to some
sample sound clips of my songs and please order one of my CD's. I'd really appreciate your support. Thanks, Steve.
